Nicola (Setting Manager)
Nicola has worked at the pre-school since 2000; she also ran the Parent and Toddler group, then became a play assistant and went on to become the pre-school’s Supervisor. After completing her NVQ 4 in Childcare and Education in 2010, Nicola went on to take the position of manager of Bodmin pre-School and has now achieved her Foundation Degree in Teaching and Learning. Nicola is now working towards her BA Hons Degree in Professional Practice.
Louise (Early Years Manager)
Louise has worked at the pre-school since 1999; she also ran the Parent and Toddler group, working her way up to become a play assistant and then manager. Louise has gained a 2:1 degree in Early Childhood Studies and has also been awarded Early Years Teacher Status.
Emily (Early Years Senior Practitioner)
Emily has worked at the pre-school since January 2017. Emily previously worked at Beacon Infants School and has 15 years’ experience in early years’ education. Emily has achieved BTEC National Diploma in Early Years and has also completed the first year of a Foundation Degree in Teaching and Learning.
Amy (Early Years Practitioner)
Amy began her apprenticeship at the pre-school in January 2016 and has passed her level 2 in Early Years Workforce. Amy is now working towards a Diploma level 3 in Early Years Workforce (Educator Award).
Haych (Early Years Practitioner)
Haych joined Bodmin preschool in September 2017 to work one to one with children who have specific needs. Haych is now working towards a Diploma level 3 in Early Years Workforce (Educator Award) and receiving training in all areas of Special Education Needs and Disability. After experience and training Haych will then works towards the setting SENCo role.
The Ofsted ratio for adults to children is 1:4 for children between 2 to 3 years and 1:8 for children 3 years and above, however we endeavour to maintain a higher ratio of adults to children when possible.
All staff have enhanced DBS checks and all five members of staff are Paediatric First Aiders.
All staff attend training throughout the year in all aspects of Early Years Development.
